   Job Title: Service Learning Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support facilitators in developing individual service learning activities, community-based research projects, and/or in integrating service learning into the curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain processes to track and evaluate academic and co-curricular service programs including the evaluation of service learning sites and placements, and the assessment of student learning achieved through such programs. Report on the results to Program Director.
  • Facilitate partnerships between the community and the program as they relate to service learning and community-based research. Serve as the first point of contact for community partners; coordinate and collaborate with other schools and organizations. Communicate service-learning opportunities to students and staff.
  • Facilitate agency communication and collaboration with existing school-based service learning programs and with co-curricular and volunteer service programs to foster collaboration in development curriculum-based approaches to service learning and avoid competition.

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Executive Director of DCEA and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) program policy guidelines, the RSVP Director has full-time responsibility for the development and operation of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program; in coordination with DCEA and the Senior Corps Program Advisory Council.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan and develop all phases of RSVP operations.
  • Recruit, select, orient and place RSVP volunteers with volunteer stations.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate fiscal, personnel, program and volunteer records.
  • Enhance the total efforts of RSVP through active involvement with community organizations and other national service programs where appropriate.
  • Implement agreed upon performance measures and other RSVP grant requirements.
